Life is hard . .

Post by jmorgannz »

. . .when you find a web-comic that paints the picture of a universe you really want to binge on, but the content just doesn't exist yet!
Out of all the sci-fi I watch/read, I most want to see more of the Outsider universe.

Man I'd love to see an animated show based in the same world!

Great work Arioch - just wish there was moar :)

Wow, i didn't even notice we're already at 1188$. Well, then Arioch will probably be forced to work full time soon

And it looks like we actually hit 1200$ for the first time - well deserved i might add! It does make me curious though...

@Arioch: Is a full-time job as a webcomic artist something you are indeed still considering? The goal had been around for a couple years, and i assume that going full-time webbcomic artist won't be a trivial choice to make.

I suppose it depends on your definition of "full time", but we're already pretty much there... I still have other obligations, but the comic is what I spend most of my working hours on.

Thanks very much to the generous patrons, and to everyone who reads the comic.

That is actually quite wonderful to hear. Lately pages have essentially arrived at an unprecedented and steady rate, though i was wondering a bit if recent global events might caused some workload shifts ... If the current release schedule is here to stay you certainly won't hear me complaining. :D

Arioch, how profitable were the items you offer in that shop? Adding more might be a decent stretch goal.

Never sold more than a few, but I think merchandise is something which should definitely be revisited at some point. There are a lot more options today than there were when I set that up.

Well, the word outsider isn't that good to put on clothes. The logos or some of the ship silhouettes would look good.

People may make the connection to a TV show about wierd people so yes, it will have to be graphic prints, just the logo will not work for those not already into the comic.

No you are not justified to complain

I remember waiting entire years, checking in monthly hoping for updates.

Those were the days: So much nicer having more excuses to check in around here these days honestly.

But thankfully the quality of the produced content hasn't dropped. That last city image. Was it really needed? Possibly not. Was it EPIC. Oh yes. Did it take forever to make? Only Arioch would know.

I remember the delay due to the bridge design being tweaked. I started to fear we might never move forwards: but here we are with a completed bridge scene.

Makes me wonder which location the next chapter will bring us to. The Barsam ship? Directly to Azimol or the Emperor's ship? Time will tell.

Historically, i fear a new setting, but storywise I want them.

( a new setting often meant a longer hiatus, to create the setting's model.
Story would continue, though)
The Ur-Quan Masters finally gets a continuation of the story! Late backing possible, click link.

I'm really looking forward to a scene change. It already almost half of the comics since page 103 was spent in this shuttle.

I'm expecting them to end up on the Admiral's flagship, where Alex's tactical expertise will overule the Loroi's unimaginative thinking and lead them to a decisive victory over the invaders and cement relations between the Loroi and humanity. Looking at the tactical maps, I've got a plan of campaign.

All my speculation is, of course, completely wrong.

Obviously, they'll go on an overarching quest to find the roots of Humaniti and Loroi, discover the long lost orion system, gain a highly advanced cruiser there and repel in the last instant the invasion of the Loroi homeworlds.

After which the Soia appear from their pocket dimension and start attacking random planets and bases.
Each time they come with a stronger force.
