Hmm, Beryl can then definitely let her disappointment of not getting to know everything hang out...
Also, a mother is a mother remains a mother.
She will still help because that's necessary, but disappointment at her protégé for hiding something from her (especially something smutty like prn) will be shown.

I don't think that was anything close to a kiss.

I'm sure Beryl's annoyance is likely edged with the fact Alex spent time interacting with the "cockpit hussies"... where she could not eideticly record everything! It's clear the loroi female warriors feel Jealousy around time interacting with males! I don't blame Alex for moving around either!

I mean, he's got more in common with then than he does her, so sooner or late he's gonna have to tell Beryl he enjoys being around them just as much as her. The jealousy has been there since the handshake on the shuttle, which I believe Beryl took offense to because he didn't do that with her.

Beryl seems to be the only one who is jealous. We can now speculate whether that's because she's not a very virtuous Loroi or because Alex wellbeing on this trip is her responsibility or because she thinks little of the ability of a male to manage adult tasks like getting dressed.

To be fair Alex is putting on an Alien space suit, perhaps the "zipper" is on the back.
I think this is going to make it very difficult for him to check up with the pocket Historian.

Interesting, a vacc-suit that zips in the back... is not something a person can put on by themselves! Can the new NASA / Space X suits be put on by one person? I doubt it.

Don't tell me you would have trouble zipping up one of those space suits? They look like no more trouble than everyday clothes.

But don't these suits have their zip line on the side of the body anyway?

To me it looks more like Bery is busy with something on the neckline of the inner lining of the environment suit. The neckline of the outer part is still down at chest level.

My experience with a wet suit would suggest its not that difficult.

Obviously with a wetsuit the seal isn't as important. However the seal is at the neck and so you will have no problem with that.

I agree, I can put my dry suit on by myself and that has a back zip
