SO if the recent update is A TTK- supper heavy, does this mean the Umiak are charging in for the kill and hoping to break the Loroi defensive lines ?

Typo in your post, Nomad. It's TT, not TTK. TT is the Superheavy, TTK is the Ultraheavy. So there is not such thing as a TTK-Superheavy

Ops, I get so mixed up of the Loroi system of Classification, what ever happen to good old "naming" enemy ships that human used ?

However, another ops is that the updated umiak class listing says the following
Ships (TT sup- heavy BB) in this size class began to appear around 2140 during the battles of the Golim-Tinza line, apparently in an attempt to counter the heavy firepower of the Loroi command ships being used to great effect by Admiral Sunfall and others during this period. It was generally assumed by the Loroi at the time that these over-sized super heavies were being used as flagships for Umiak commanders, but it is now believed that this was probably incorrect. Experience has since demonstrated that most Umiak commanders prefer less conspicuous, smaller cruisers as flag vessels (given Loroi superiority in long-range heavy weaponry). Older vessels in this size class are occasionally seen leading assault divisions, but it is believed that newly produced examples are restricted to duty with the bivouac divisions.
note the Bold section, he he D'OH  but does these mean its the main attack wave ( most probable) or is this new wave simply the umiak heavier composition strike force that " attack regularly and efficiently" as tempo Stated

Arioch wrote: Thanks for pointing that out, as it needs to be fixed. Those two pages were created at different times, so the terms are local to each page; the Umiak armor is certainly more effective per cm thickness than the Terran armor. Though I will say that the Terran cruisers are very thickly armored, since that's their only form of protection (whereas for the main combatants, even the rugged Umiak, armor is a secondary form of protection). But you're right that it should be converted to an equivalent numeric value.

If only the enemy could be lured into the Mutara nebula, where screens are useless and the Terran cruisers can blast away with their mass drivers at point-blank range. :D

...Well...the Umiak Ultra-heavy DOES have really good shields...and mass drivers aren't really affected by shields...

Sweet. Now where are we going to get the Mutara nebula at this hour?
Also if computer gaming has taught me anything, it's that the human navy needs to stock up on salvage tugs to compete. Lots of salvage tugs.

depend if you played the patch version or not.

at some point you could capture over you ship capacity and what more easy to capture than an ion frigate baited by fighter (yes the "ion sphere part")

Talk about an ominous ship. Such an imposing color-scheme too; even the dramatic lighting is over-bearing.

Edit: Also, Tempo's expression is fantastic.

for some reason, now that the TT- super Battleship is coloured . . . I'm really scared of it now and what to get VERY FAR away form it.

Looks like tempo is as surprised as me, such large warship of doom is coming their way, guess the loroi losing their Far-seeing abilities and those the tt supers coming aren't a coincidence. It appears that the Umaik are starting offensive operations now that the Loroi have lost a key advantage.

Yeah. I think Tempo's expression pretty much sums it up.

I think Tempo's expression might have more behind it than the incoming Umiak alone.

There are plenty of Loroi around to provide reaction shots if it's the ship that's terrifying. Fireblade, for instance, must have some particularly awful feelings regarding Umiak ships bearing down on her, since she survived the destruction of another ship. I think there might be some special reason for it to be Tempo that's shocked. I think this especially since Tempo, as a Mizol, would have been been specifically trained and conditioned to control her reactions, and as a 50-year-old veteran of the front line will have become somewhat more inured to shocking battlefield developments than, say, Beryl, a 14-year-old agoraphobe from a non-warrior caste.

If Tempo had a cup of coffee in her hand she'd be doing a spit-take right now. The other Loroi we see next to her is not reacting nearly so strongly. So I'd think there would have to be something specific to Tempo causing her to react like that, especially since it'd have to break through all the training a Mizol would have to undergo to do decent spywork or to lie adequately, but would leave the relatively straightlaced and earnest Loroi on the bridge unaffected.

So, maybe something specific to Tempo's duties gives her some terrifying information that the rest of the Loroi wouldn't know. Maybe the Farseer just told her something terrifying, like, if she can't sense any of the incoming ships, or if she sees a much larger fleet right in the next system preparing to jump in and reinforce this one, or if she's gone completely blind and can no longer sense even her fellow Loroi, or something. Maybe it's not even Farseer related, maybe she personally recognizes that specific ship, or maybe she telepathically received orders from headquarters or something, but I think it might be something special, beyond "oh fuck look at the size of 'em."
