You and me both- props Arioch. And thanks for the coloring clarification- standard green and the "light stone gray" Lego bricks seem to be the way to go then.

With that updated color scheme, two new model designs:

First, a smaller cruiser than the last one:

I think it's a bit too small- I liked the earlier one better.

I finally have some of the curved pieces that are integral to my Loroi ship builds, so I can actually build my designs (mostly) IRL now, though of course not in the right color. I think I'm going to base my final design off my second design (http://www.well-of-souls.com/forums/vie ... 1983#p1983). I really like the missile launcher assembly I came up with, and the overall size was just about right. If I can just make it a bit sleeker, I think I'll be happy with it.

Thanks, I was looking into building a large scale model that the mini-kitscale your at now, but I might try small.

Hey, bigger's good too. I just have a fairly small collection of parts, so small scale means cheaper. Think you might try to make a minifig-sized one? That'd be doable I think.

Anyone have any awesome ideas for the side radiator fins? Those are tricky, esp. at this scale- best pieces would be these: but I think they'll be a bit too big at this scale.

Well the only problem with a mini fig scale is if you look at the size of the of Arrow to the pilot as seen here: at eh bottom left

its going ot be a big model, but I thought of trying a smaller kit first

as for the fin's, how about a 1X2 flat with one of those holders (to hold pipe or min-fig tools ( can't find a photo T-stroms in my area . . . got to go)

Arrow first, the Bell next, a Warhammer Destroyer, maybe a Winter tide CLE Tempest and them Cry of the Wind.

Don't forget the massive amount of engineering LEGO put into designing all those pieces. None of what LEGO fans have created would be possible except for the extreme amount of design and ingenuity that went into the design and creation of each block and how they would interact.

Me, small scale is the way to go for now. A larger Tempest (say 12-18" ) would be cool to do later. When it comes to that size, these kind of pieces will make it work beautifully, at least as far as the forward prongs go: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=41748.

Also, I did not realize the Rapier class was nearly the same size as the destroyer class- this makes my mix of design elements in the larger mini-scale versions a bit more plausible i think.
I'm currently away from my legos for the weekend, but this coming week I'll rebuild one of my earlier designs and modify it again- should be very close to the final.

And man, those green curve pieces are rare- there's far more of those in lime, believe it or not.

yeah it going to be difficult to get the right elements for even the little arrow, as well the curves will be a challenage, but I like a building challenage.

first step it see what I have right now, then to think about how to get teh basic shape down.

care to give any pointers ( open to everyone as well :p)
