Re: 172: See something you like?

Do the Loroai have an equivolent of Belle Notte, but because I can see Tallon and Spiral with a madalin and a Accordian playing them around Space Harpy and Jardin right now. This Is the Night (Alex and Fireblade reach for the last meatball), the most beutiful night (they look into eachother eyes), a...

Re: 172: See something you like?

I love Tallens shit eating grin, and what she's saying. "Go ahead, tiger. Hit that. No, that is not the smell of popcorn poping, nore is that the sound of our medic getting the first aid kit out. I think he is surprised to see her either in a moment of weakness (tuching her head might be her way of ...

Re: WIP Discussion (Part 1!)

PTSD + combat telekinetic = why the heck is she on active combat duty? Nine female births for every male one, a high tech society that has no use for menial labor, high competition for positions of authority, females fertile for centuries and children that go from cradle to cockpit in 12 years. +Wa...

She looks uncomfortable. Think she's reliving her past?

I am also going to think Alex is going to go: Let sleeping crazy red heads lie.

Re: Miscellaneous Umiak/misc. races question-and-answer thre

On the odd chance one of the shells has to go into close combat or a firefight, say a boarding operation or a raid of a key location they want, would those bred for this task have their armor augmented (genetically to cybernetically) for blows to glans of of them like medieval plate armor or a shiel...

Re: How to Make Mecha Work in a realish setting

I would think power armor would be an option, even if its a small numbers, might be effective. THe average soldier today carries so much gear on them, even in short patrols, more than a medieval night in plate armor did. This might be a good way to carry heavy loads, stronger guns, and go into ares ...

If the Big Red One is any indication condoms are also good with keeping your rifle operational despite salt water and sand. I can only imagine them asking why his graduation was a party. Alex Answers, looking up pictures on the device for visual aid. "Because by that point, anyone not up to snuff go...

A depopulated city might have some worth....for repopulation. After ll, how many areas that once belonged to Native Americans are now major cities filled with the descendants of their conquerors? It also might be a good place to be make a base for the army as they would have structures for houseing ...

Re: Miscellaneous Loroi question-and-answer thread

Unless of course it turns out that the Loroi also have symbiotic microorganisms living within them, and that's who the Soia really are, and they're what makes telepathy possible, as they communicate the will of the Force. No wait, that's midichlorians, not mitochondria. That would explain a lot.......

Re: WIP Discussion (Part 1!)

I suspect that the rations are bland, and have no extra gas causing properties. A ship full of gas passing astronauts is something out of a horror story...... This reminds me of somthing Gaijin Goomba did on Which Ninja, one of his shows on Youtube about Ninja food. They had to be comact and still ...

Re: How to Make Mecha Work in a realish setting

Just thought of something while watching a show called Origins on Netflix (the show looks at something we know and love like Motorcycles, Airplanes, Knights, Horses, and whatnot from their earliest examples of such ideas and uses to modern times or their last hurrah.). While talking about the histor...

Re: How to Make Mecha Work in a realish setting

What about repairs? How much more difficult would an exoskeleton or larger mecha be compared to a military vehicle a tank or an attack helicopter or even an transport shuttle? An urban mech is only 5million USD a Firefly is about the same or do you mean something else? I was just thinking of someth...

Re: Page 170: What I fear...

This is probably the most emotionally vulnerable (and the gentlest in depiction) to the cast she has been. She remembers a time of peace and prosperity. Before the Dark Times. Before the Empire. I couldn't resist. But she remembers the relative ease of life before either side were willing to use wea...

Re: How to Make Mecha Work in a realish setting

Except that if there is nothing of collateral value in an area, there's not much reason to be fighting there. Depends on who is valueng it, or the risk/reward ratio. A pair of cities might be very valuble, but if they are the main production centers for an enemy then nuking them might be very valua...

Re: How to Make Mecha Work in a realish setting

Emphasis mine. Modern air-to-air systems can engage well beyond visual range; unless stealth is involved, that helo is going to get smoked long before it knows the fighter exists. Odds are, an aircraft would probably not engage at low altitude with guns. With even today's technology, the only thing...
