Re: Page 199: MAD about stuff
In addition (maybe I have missed the info but anyway): Is the air in the Umiak ship even breathable for humans and Loroi? Insider reports that the Umiak homeworld has roughly 1/3 Earth's gravity, making it fairly Mars-like (though probably Mars of long ago with more atmosphere than today) so I'd su...

Re: Page 198: Beated!
So, the pilots do like to banter. (" Tail-Wag! ") Kinda knew that about Talon already, though this is rather more playful than the invective she threw at Clearbrook on page 131. Let's see how the next round(s) go for Alex. Guessing they will be interrupted, but maybe! He is supposed to be very good...

Re: How do you 'design' a ship in Outsider-verse
Also as an artist, I have a great deal of interest in this! Normally I'd say have a look at the original Moo 2 sprites and design your aesthetics off of them, it's what I do!. Funny thing about that, I've asked around the harder-end of SciFi community and they agree that hexagons are the best shape...

Re: Page 189: GO AWAY!
The comic is... sporadic, may be the best way to put it? You can see the update history on the main page, since Arioch puts the date with each; there have been 20 pages in 2020 thus far, so averaging to 2/month, but you can see there is a large gap from 13 July to 21 September. These things happen. ...

Re: How to Make Mecha Work in a realish setting
Seriously though... how about we settle this argument when mechs are actually a thing? This is getting stupid. I think everyone can agree that mechs require at least a little suspension of disbelief. Can you make "realistic" fiction with them? Sure. Are they going to be created in real life? Probab...

Re: Outsider Tech: Sensors
Gravity can always be detected in real time, gravity waves(ripples) in space itself travel at the speed of light but its a forgotten inconvenience that gravity experiments show the suns real position and not its 8min light lag position is effecting Earth in real time. I say inconvenience because it...

hi hi Considering the environment Perrein, I would think they'd need to be able to deal with all kinds of parasites, probably much more insidious than lice. Space Crabs. Nah... I mean, there couldn't POSSIBLY be anything nasty hiding out there in the rest of the galaxy, right?
Or people back home looking to take advantage of all the (presumably) now-opened access?
Couldn't... possibly....
But should make for a grand ol' time.

Fusion in a magnetic containment chamber made for it I can't see making the ship immune to such weapons, shooting sabot round does not make a tank immune to sabot rounds or human shooting a bow immune to arrows. No one else has pointed this out, so I will. Sabots and bows are not the same thing as ...

Re: Page 157: "This is not MY datapad!"
Unless and until we know more, to me it seems like a bridge too far for a Historian AI construct to get so familiar with human culture (at least those aboard Bellarmine) to understand what pornography *is* (which humans to our own point in history really haven't defined) and then to further abbrevi...

Re: Page 152 Discussion: "Inventorying your equipment"
While I know Beryl told Alex that they would work something out (or similar) if he found he needed one of the tools from his ship, the fact that Alex is digging through them with the Loroi absent kind of says to me that he is not planning on telling them he has it, or at least not right away... thou...

Re: Page 152 Discussion: "Inventorying your equipment"
I'm trying to think of what the rest of the objects in the storage container might be. Looks like there might be more rations, another more different type of data pad, and some kind of disk storage, or maybe recharging station? Alex pretty much summed it up with "They seem to have grabbed everythin...

Re: Page 151 Discussion: "We will wait, Outsider"
I think Alex could likely sense Fireblade without Beryl touching him, yes - it was more her encouragement to calm down / focus outward / meditate / whatever zen-like state ;) that Alex just hasn't done much if any of on his own. And I'm more curious just how much time passed between pages 150 and 15...

hi hi Sure, but we also never brought back bits to land. The SSMEs on the space shuttle were brought back to land and reused multiple times. Even ignoring all the other parts of the shuttle program, the engines themselves didn't live up to the cost savings that NASA was hoping for. Presumably peopl...
