Re: Sci-Fi/Space Opera Shows (Current or Upcoming) On Stream
If you are into military Sci-Fi, I can recommend Space: Above and Beyond. Its a late 90s TV show, about humanitys first contact and war, with aliens. The main protagonists are a group of young spacemariens/fighter pilots (yes, they are both in the show) thrown into combat. The special effects no lon...

My 2 cents:
-They will either be under attack and got hit.
-Or Clearbrook will kick the bucket.

How could they have know that, I wonder...The group that deep-jumped into Leido (to ~1AU from the star) is probably meant to surround SG51

My best guess is that it has something to do with the resolution or detection level of farsensing. Maybe the Umiak were able to reduce the crews to such an extend, that the Loroi can no longer detect them over large distances. But I guess we need more informations about farsensing and farseers in ge...

Re: Miscellaneous Loroi question-and-answer thread
Could the Loroi build a jump capable version of the Highland or would that not be usefull in any way?No, the Highland is not jump capable. The shuttle is not going to Seren itself, but instead transferring the party to a ship that will take them.

What?! Three updates at once? Has christmas come early this year?
Anyway, what Alex feels on page 115 (or what he feels not) is very interesting and yes, Beryl looks rather annoyed on that page.

Interessting, but short article about the Van Allen Belt and its (possible) interaction with radio signals from earth.

Re: Miscellaneous Loroi question-and-answer thread
There's no direct equivalent to India's "untouchables." The civilians are in general an underclass, but not to that degree. I didn't mean the civilians in general, but maybe there is some kind of civilian caste that most other Loroi try to avoid? Can Loroi be cast out of their caste, as some form o...

Re: Miscellaneous Loroi question-and-answer thread
After reading a bit about the Indian caste system I wonder: are there any Loroi that are not in a military or civilian caste and what is their stand in Loroi society? Is there something like an "untouchable" caste in Loroi society, like the Indian "Paria" or "Harijan"?

Re: Halfway station RP thread.
@dragoongfa: I would rather compare Loroi males and their place in society to children (as Arioch did sometimes). The are protected and every Loroi females is expected to take care of them or at least look after them. A Loroi male standing on a spaceport and wanting to buy a ticket to human space is...

Hi Guys! Not really sure I should write a few things here, as I am not interested in playing in this RP (no time at the moment). But there are some things I would like to add on the whole "male Loroi as a playercharacter" discussion: Pro's: 1.) Such a character would be interesting, as they are curr...

I just read an article about this study in German and thought it might be of interest: Link
Its about the effects of cosmic radiation on neurons, memories and the brain of mammals. A very uncomfortable read or in other words: I wouldn't book a trip to Mars just yet.

@Icekatze There were undoubtedly bad years, but never so bad that people stopped farming. It is known from research on neolithic human bones, that the human lifespan in that time periode was significantly shorter than before. The reasons among others were diseases, malnutrition and parasites. So not...

Re: Miscellaneous Loroi question-and-answer thread
The oldest agricultural cultures dated for roughly 8-10k years ago, the first domestication of animals, too, about this period + - 1000 years. Which is precisely what icekatze wrote. The oldest crop domesticated was afaik lentils, but archaeologists are unsure if the earliest found ones (13000-1000...
