What are the privacy norms for the Loroi given their telepathy?
How often are we going to see Alex's various alien shipmates walk in on him changing simply because they didn't sense him?

Re: WIP Discussion (Part 1!)
Could be that Talon is letting on that making real contact will be a long term goal with the current state of things, since the human systems are so out of the way and behind the tech curve as to be a one-way trip for most current long range vessels the Loroi have. Beryl is definitely looking worrie...

Re: Miscellaneous Loroi question-and-answer thread
How do the member races of the Loroi Union regard the idea/practice of self-uplift or genetically engineering your own species? It appears that the previous empire was fine with engineering variants of existing species so does that set a positive precedent in the minds of member races?

Re: Page 117: I will demonstrate!
Btw CF2, am I translating your signature well with "My seniors, please observe"? That's what I'm reading too. "Senior, attention to me!" or a variant thereof. There's no single good translation to toilal sininra , really - part of the meaning gets lost during translation. Notice me, senpai! edit: u...

Re: Page 117: I will demonstrate!
Except that we’re not talking about the state of slavery, we’re discussing good advice that an all powerful, all knowing, all seeing, omnipresent God can give to slaves. Actually what we're really talking about is the likelihood of the Loroi deciding to wipe humans from the galaxy after Ensign Jard...

Re: The vessel that destroyed Bellarmine
Hey. I like this web comic. I just want to ask one thing. In the prologue page 6 panel 1 (?), we see in the upper right hand corner an image of a ship. I would speculate that this is the unidentified contact the Terran ship encountered. You can see glare of two aft thrusters. I suppose we could enl...

Re: Page: 118
Also, the Loroi do not know human psyche. They might not now how much information a human that is lonely will spill. Especially a lonely male in presence of women with an alure of the kind the Loroi radiate. If they knew, they would make sure to keep Alex busy, so that he can brag with all his know...

Re: Page: 118
Please tell me how the Loroi could've treated Alex "better". They could have not left him in solitary confinement for the duration of time between the skirmish at Naam and his departure aboard the shuttle, especially because they had at that point recognized him as an "ambassador extraordinary and ...

Re: Page: 118
That is quite the expanse of space between Naam and where he's gesturing at. Not sure what kind of range Loroi ships have, but I doubt he'll get to head home on the first vessel they send. Not before a replacement diplomat can be sent back at least. He's going to wind up being a novelty in some hall...

Re: Bellarmine's route to Naam (re: page 118)
I assume seeing the results of Loroi anti-neutrality policy with their own eyes would give Alex a slightly different perspective of his rescuers/hosts... He might be more cautious about clarifying that humanity intends to declare for the Loroi once contact is established, so as not to provoke his h...

Re: Page 117: I will demonstrate!
I'd bet anything that offering a way for humanity's existence to fit into their Loroi-centric propaganda will be key to the treatment of Humanity. As it is, humans don't have enough clear and actionable value to outright demand their imperial-descent-narrative be changed. That may change by the end ...

Re: WIP Discussion (Part 1!)
Maybe the "not-getting" part may lead him to being roped into such a game and the Loroi use their telepathy to trounce him... He should definitely be wary of any 1 on 1 challenges. Alex: "Okay, I'm putting a ban on spectators watching from my side of the table when we play." Tempo: "Only if we play...

Voracious appetite for knowledge + inscrutable non-presence to telepathy + cute alien male = best listel puzzle ever.

Re: WIP Discussion (Part 1!)
I wonder if it would be inappropriate to ask Beryl if she can think of any reason the Loroi might want to destroy "humaniti" in the foreseeable future, before Alex stars pointing at star systems.

I think would sound like the difference between human-eat-ee rather than human-itty.cacambo43 wrote:What do you (and others, including Arioch) think the fundamental difference in pronunciation is between the two? I "hear" it the same way when I read the comic.

Re: Pages 114, 115, 116
Funny thing about Talon's manner of speaking, she seems to have accidentally pronounced "humanity" correctly rather than saying "humaniti" like others unfamiliar with the word.

Re: Miscellaneous Loroi question-and-answer thread
So Loroi can sense each other, but how accurate is it? Would Talon be able to tell that it was specifically Beryl that was approaching the cockpit airlock? Or is this sense unable to distinguish individuals within a group?

Re: P A G E 1 1 3
Is it me, or are the colours rather washed put on page 113? I go from looking at Jardin's uniform in the last panel of 112 and by comparison, it seems rather faded in 113. Perhaps a colour correction issue? A. It's accurate considering that the majority of the lighting in the cockpit appears to be ...
