Re: Page 131: The one in which we learn how Loroi swear

Were the Loroi a British colony at one point? Not only the Loroi, mate , the bloody English, they are everywhere! It looks like that at this point the commander of the Clearbrook does not fear a court martial, because she's either quite sure she won't survive long enough or maybe even the Union won...

Re: Sci-Fi/Space Opera Shows (Current or Upcoming) On Stream

Knights of Sidonia is a good place to start on Netflix. That's not something I would recommend to a anime newbie. While it does have that echo of the Battlestar Galactica vibe, it's yet another mecha-centered anime and that's not everyone's cup of tea. I would recommed Planetes instead. A good, sol...

Re: Miscellaneous Terran question-and-answer thread

I don't think is was asked, forgive me if it was, but... how colonial fleet uniform looks like? Like SC uniform with different patches? This is not quite up to date, but it looks a bit like this: Would that be the on-duty or parade uniform? Also would that be an officer's or a crewman's uniform and...

Re: A Call to... {Spoilers} - Page 127

I think Arioch missed a huge opportunity here. I mean, posting the original page on Patreon, then have everyone check out the Outsider page to find an update here, too.

However, today, this new page here would be "slightly" different...

Re: Orgus

Well, for starters they can provide information. Since they were interstellar traders they should know a lot about what's going on. Some of it might be hearsay, but it's still better that nothing. I think that's what actually happened and the Orgus played the role of advisors while the scouting corp...

Re: sci-fi creative writting tips?

I've read the Thrawn trilogy in my geek phase some years ago. It's far better than many of the other Star Wars books and better that most of Star trek ones. Probably should re-read it, especially if Disney decides to base the new trilogy on 'em and spoils the story forever  . The cost-effective...

Re: Outsider Ground War

Okay, are we discussing mere theoretical possibilities or a viable defensive tactic in the Outsider universe? :geek: For that we need to define some variables. 1. How much better are the defensive platforms? For example, if we can assume that a purely defensive installation costs about, say, a quart...

Re: sci-fi creative writting tips?

Yeah, but only if it's a trap ! And setting up effective traps in the vastness of space if you have only one device is not a viable tactic. It only worked because it was in the script. Besides, it is slow, can only fire in one direction, costs like three or four fleets of standard destroyers and req...

Re: sci-fi creative writting tips?

Yeah, villain was the wrong term, antagonist would've been better. Thrawn was a interesting step away from the very obvious villains like the Emperor or Tarkin to make the story more immersive. But since this will be a Disney production, who knows? ;) An even while the Empire's military might be a d...

Re: sci-fi creative writting tips?

You want something new? Well, since the Stormtroopers weren't able to hit anything and were easily defeated by Ewoks, why not clone them? Imagine a cloned "reborn" Emperor leading a army of cloned Ewoks. You get the cuddly factor, the comical relief and a great opportunity to sell bazillions of Ewok...
