Re: 173: A Form of Warning or Challenge
Something tells me Unsheathed regularly do policing actions on their own populace, Loroi are thus far, the only psychics (Telepathic links can be exploited for attack).

Re: 172: See something you like?
I'm wondering if we're gonna get a lore dump of Terra in the year 2020 where out of control, wild gangs of augmented humans had to be put down, and strictly regulated for their punk attitudes, and reckless trigger disciplines.

Re: Miscellaneous Terran question-and-answer thread
Today's expert systems are getting very capable, and with "machine learning" techniques this will probably only accelerate... and it probably won't be long before some AI systems can pass the "Turing test", that is, to be able to fool a human into thinking that it is another human. But this is not ...

Re: 172: See something you like?
Me, a primitive 21st century human, unmoved by the augmentation of aliens in the mid 22nd century. Jardin, a primitive 22nd century human, freaked out by a blue tooth accessory for the psychic nighty cramps. It doesn't even look that out of place for a person with a hearing aid, but given the charac...

Re: Page 170: What I fear...
Perhaps, Jardin should lift their spirits up with some wise words? It is better by far to embrace the hard truth, than a reasurring fable. If we crave some cosmic purpose, then let us find ourselves a worthy goal. It's often shocking how secularists come off as being even more cringeworthy than the...

Re: How to Make Mecha Work in a realish setting
The Mechs in "Obsolete" are basically armored exoskeletons that pilots piggyback on a seat, while grasping the control ring. In terms of scale, they're similar to the tachikomas, just bipedal.

Re: How to Make Mecha Work in a realish setting
The only 'handwaved' plausible reason I have found for larger mecha is actually neural interface with most humans incapable of 'piloting' any vehicle through it, and almost all of the remaining are incapable of piloting anything except humanoid shapes. Now a neural interface could actually give a l...

Kirk is a great character for a wild west in space, Picard when space is more defined, policed, and alliances are of important to maintain.

Re: Page 169: The most messed up!
I think humans have a vestigial psychic potential in Outsider, or it was purposely closed off by the Soia, and perhaps all too well to the point where they're "immune" to telepathic intrusion. Old stories and all.

Re: Page 169: The most messed up!
Once again, why bother preventing the first contact? Humans are (very) primitive and outnumbered in the conflict. Nothing to gain here. The only reason I can fathom is that humanity existence could light some...inconsistences in the official narrative regarding Loroi's origins and maybe the Soia th...

Oddly the two shoulder to shoulder somehow reminds me of Jem and the Holograms. Its probably the hair and face tattoo. Their hair isn't big enough for 80's style glam-rock, but somehow it triggers some very old memories. Though it may be the lips as well. They're grouped up like a character reveal ...
