Re: Master of Orion
Seen this getting more activity over the last couple of weeks. Nice to see its hit steam as well. Though I suspect like many more recent strategy titles it'll be followed by DLC packs. It remains to be seen if the game itself and additional content will be worth the bother and price. But I hope the ...

Re: Star Wars SPOILERS ALLOWED
As a curiosity I'd like to know who pushed for the expanded universe to get disregarded. Some of the disney marketing thinkers, JJ Abrams, or something Lucas did that pissed others off during closed door meetings.

Re: Homeworld: Shipbreakers
Part of the Relic team works on Cataclysm. Relic and Barking Dog shared work offices during development. Cataclysm was supposed to be an attached expansion for the base game of Homeworld but at some point in development it became to large (in the eyes of the developers and publishers) to be just a s...

Re: Homeworld: Shipbreakers
You might be surprised how many spelling variations there are of typical english names in (primarily) english speaking countries. I know a few karans as well as karens. One of the ladies I used to work with was called rashel with a CH. I've seen so many variations of Peter over the years I've lost c...

Depends if the name is pronounced as we expect to hear it, rae-chel. Or the ch (chuh) is changed into a different sound such as "shuh" or even K sound. Rae-shel, Rah-shel, Rak-kel, Rae-kel. Until we get an actual audio confirmation its anyones guess. But it'll probably be pronounced as we expect :)

Re: Page 105 discussion
Boarding actions rarely happen... and I suspect there are craft in tempest's hangers that are better suited for boarding actions than the large shuttle alex is riding in.

Its been a while since I read the support charactor names... from a thread a good while back. I was under the impression shoegirl was called "forest".

Re: WIP Discussion (Part 1!)
Obviously we'll find out more when pages are posted but for now.... since Forest seems to be tagging along in the shuttle, does she contribute anything to the next few scenes besides standing there?

Re: Master of Orion 2 (and Space Strategy Games Discussion)
When you consider how most games get remakes or remastered versions they tend to come across has a half done job. Gearbox put a lot of effort into homeworld remastered. Obviously its open to interpretation on whether you thnk they hit the sweet spot or not, and totalbiscuit is entitled to his opinio...

Perhaps it would be wise to keep L'Oréal products away from the loroi. Don't want any soylent green misunderstandings happening.

Deuterium-Lithium 6 mix? Ready to go fusion pallets, just add catalyst.Arioch wrote: I think most fusion reactors at this tech level would require special isotopes such as deuterium or helium-3 to work properly, so the fuel would have to be refined beforehand and carried on-board.

Re: Gyrojet Pistol
At the time it was designed they probably made some good innovations but that does still have a lot of issues. If they were going to design a gyrojet round these days it would be done differently and probably within other industry standards. I do know that you can get gyrojet rounds for a standard 1...

Ghost in the Shell tribute
For anyone whos not yet seen this you can check out a creative live action take on the intro to the 1995 Ghost in the Shell movie. http://vimeo.com/96559833 It looks like they're still working on the finished piece but this looks quite impressive so far. For anyone whos unfamiliar with Ghost in the ...

Re: HOMEWORLD REMASTERED
Its something I hear often. Cataclysm seems to have been the love-hate offspring of the series. I personally enjoyed cataclysm for its diversity and darker storyline. Certainly it had its issues and didn't match the grandeur that homeworld set before it, but it was still enjoyable. Though as with an...

Re: HOMEWORLD REMASTERED
This has been floating around the web for a while now if you haven't heard about it already. At the moment their plan is to release a "classic" version of homeworld 1 and 2 that will run on modern systems, leaving most of the gameplay and all the known mechanics and exploits in place. Then at a late...

Re: Miscellaneous Terran question-and-answer thread
Alternatively could you not explain that away as having picked up some time delayed "echo" of alien activity. No doubt previous battles and even the burning of the steppes would create some seriously interesting radio noise becoming detectable once the terrans reached a certain point. Even after yea...

Re: Another batch of questions
A shame really, though some good may still come of it if the games are released on services like steam. Hopefully get some attention and interest into the series and the genre at large.

Re: M.O.O. 2
Another one for your list Discord would be Stars! It was a very basic interface that used much of the windows interface and was even playable on windows 3.1 If you have a copy or a working version its a pain to get it to run on modern windows platforms but can be done with some fiddling around. You ...
