Re: Miscellaneous Terran question-and-answer thread
bamboo all the way, you can use that stuff for EVERYTHING, boats, airplanes, buildings...i think it'd be difficult to make a combustion engine out of it, but the rest in a car is doable and also makes wonderful underwear and clothing in general, food, great for scaffolding, musical instruments....y...

Re: Miscellaneous Terran question-and-answer thread
Will the use of hemp (the fibers that the Declaration of independence is made of) be more wide spread? My logic is this: We can turn into building material, we can use it for paper, and we can make clothing out of it, and short of the Antarctica (at least as far as I am aware of, scientists can only...

I know you said Space Pirates in the traditional sense would be out of the question, but what about say something simalar to Mass Effect where instead of targeting ships in open space, raiders could attack sparcly defended outposts and colonies?
How realistic is that threat.

Re: Miscellaneous Loroi question-and-answer thread
Have either of the main sides of this war tried sending in probes through enemy territory, and what is the likelihood of success? Jump drive requires significant power (the powerplant of a ~75m class ship), so an instellar 'probe' is better known as a scout; it's an expensive piece of hardware that...

Let us know when we can start quoting Frankenstine.
You know, the line: Its alive! It's Alive! Oh, so this is what it feels to be God!

I can see that. The US has one of the best food production in the word, and if so much did't go to waste, we'd probably see world hunger cut in half.

Re: Miscellaneous Terran question-and-answer thread
Currently we are at 7 billion. Unless something happens, probably by us, that puts us on the endangered species list, it might be conceivable to get that high.

Re: Miscellaneous Loroi question-and-answer thread
It seems most of the Loroli have mixed reactions to Alex, ranging from curious glances to death glares.
Overall, how do the crew view him, and their opinion of their "first Human Ambassador."

Re: Miscellaneous Terran question-and-answer thread
How long could one of these ships stay out for? Say they have to be out longer, or are caught in a cosmic storm, or have to be extra stealthy to avoid being blasted into stardust, or quarantine due to an alien infection?

Re: Miscellaneous Umiak/misc. races question-and-answer thre
If given the opportunity, what is the likelihood they would or could use a biological weapon, such as a engineered virus, on a target planet? I thinking is it will probably not be killed by this disease themselves, unless it crosses over to them, and they can have it dispersed swiftly (such as by to...

Re: Miscellaneous Terran question-and-answer thread
What the the likelihood of say a boarding party option? I know this is largely a throwback to when ships were largely sail powered, and we've been very happy to blow each other up since then, but what are the chances? Say, for example, there is a damaged Umiak ship who's defenses are down, and the r...

Re: Miscellaneous Terran question-and-answer thread
Besides enemy bombardments, what sort of dangers would a terrain ship face in space? Solar storms, meteors, space junk/debris, and other dangers that could arise? The thought comes from a very real danger of fire mariners face today at sea, and es[ecialy for submarines which are in an inclosed space...

Re: Miscellaneous Loroi question-and-answer thread
How Long can a Loroi male go without sex and what are the consequences of prolonged celibacy (trying to find a better way to word it.) It's mostly due to how calm and matter of fact Beryl asked Jardin about his "needs." Yes she was wondering how to be say it sensationally, but it seemed like a "Tues...
