There's still a lot of effort involved in updating. And on a "small" and rather inactive board like this one, it's not really necessary. And it would distract from Arioch's time to create the comic. IIRC, the default theme is decently adaptive on the latest version of phpBB3. On what platform? I can't read anything on this forum with Chrome on my LG Android phone, unless I zoom way way in. Does it work better with another browser? CJSF I think there are newer versions of phpBB than the one I'm...
