Re: Page 134: For Science!
Hold on a second, we do not yet know what the Umiak are shooting at. Spiral (I assume it's the co-pilot's task to monitor telemetry and stuff while the pilot is piloting) said only that she detected a torpedo launch event, not that a missile has locked onto them. For all we know, the Umiak could be...

Re: Page 134: For Science!
For all his competence, Jardin seems like a leaf trapped in a category 5 hurricane. While the story is about him, I wonder how does Arioch plan to make Alex relevant in the Loroi-Shell conflict without turning him in Commander Shepard. I mean, he is alone, trapped without resources, allies and bare...

Re: Character Discussion - Tempo
Nah, that's crazy. I think Beryl was just Beryl the last few pages. Nothing out of the ordinary and her whole behaviour fits with what is shown in the comic and what we know from her character sheet. Also, I don't think Tempo has the ability or need to hijack Beryl to touch Alex. She could just show...

Re: Page 134: For Science!
It will be interesting to see what happens if (when) Alex gets skin to skin contact with Tempo. I'm personally hoping the team ends up on Black Razor. Then we might know if Alex only senses Fireblade or other Teidar as well, by which I mean Smug Captain.

Now I want to see Outsider with Genghis Khan instead of Jardin.icekatze wrote: Nobody here really thinks that when Genghis Khan raped and pillaged his way across Asia, he spared women because he was deeply concerned with their inalienable human rights, do they?

Re: Character Discussion - Tempo
That look did strike me as odd, too. Especially on the second panel where she casts a sideways glance behind herself. For me that looked quite normal. Very surprised but otherwise normal. The Loroi seem to look at each other when they sanzai and I suspect Tempo is no exception to that habit. If you...

Re: Miscellaneous Loroi question-and-answer thread
Do the loroi have any taboo in regards to autopsies? Ie, have they cut open some of their own to take a look at their brains to figure out telepathy works? Is this something they would do with the human corpses recovered from the bellarmine to figure out their natural resistance as a matter of cour...

Re: Character Discussion - Tempo
How do you guys see Tempo ending up on the shuttle? The way I see it there are two big options.
Either Stillstorm "politely" told her designated Gestapo minder to leave her ship or Tempo told Stillstorm to be nice while her designated NKVD officer is away.

Re: Page 134: For Science!
The Romans also claimed their cities founders were descendants of Troja. Nobody really cared. The Loroi also claim they're heirs of the Soja because they're psionic.

Re: Page 134: For Science!
The Loroi have been using the fact that they are a Soia-derived species WITHOUT a naturally occuring counterpart to claim that they are special. The discovery of a naturally occurring counterpart will be...problematic. Aren't the Barsam not the religious fundies of the Union? I thought the other ra...

Re: Character Discussion - Tempo
I've been rereading the bridge scene lately. We all assume that Tempo has dubious intentions towards Alex, but what if she is actually sympathetic towards him? Some scenes get a different meaning then. Look at her reasoning for Alex staying on the bridge. Perhabs her angle on Stillstorm wasn't so mu...

Re: Character Discussion - Tempo
Another question for Arioch would be, could a Mizol be trained in diplomacy and "deception" well enough to fool humans, who have lived their entire lives and generations with such abilities, vs. the Lorori, who normally cannot lie and view words as tools of deception? Would Alex know if she was bei...

Re: WIP Discussion (Part 1!)
I find it hard to believe that the Teidar just pumped him full of psionic energy without knowing where to aim. Data seems to flow in at least one direction , as seen in the interrogation scene. So at some point the Loroi should run into some kind of tangible resistance, which I presume would be felt...

Re: WIP Discussion (Part 1!)
I would certainly like to see Beryl making some sort of telepathic contact with Alex and him also being able to "sense" her in return, that the human lotai is not absolute and one can at least sense the presence of the human mind if you don't brute-force it like Fireblade & Co did earlier. I though...

Re: WIP Discussion (Part 1!)
Tempo: That if you were a Loroi rather than a Human, she would have grossly overstepped customs of seniority and initiated an unsanctioned male encounter. Since you are not a Loroi, let me assure you I am the oldest on this shuttle. In all seriousness though, do you guys expect Beryl to have broken ...

Alex is receiving that one pic, right?

Re: Miscellaneous Loroi question-and-answer thread
What can non Loroi do to resist if they're being probed? Can they just refuse to answer or can they also actively throw up false, misleading answers? Can a non telepath hurt a Loroi in any way? Are there minds dangerous to touch for Loroi? I'm thinking of something like an infectuous mental impairme...
