Re: Anti-Loroi and Anti-Umiak Weapons and Traps

Lets just point out that we are dealing with aliens with alien body chemestry here. It is possible that an area could be flooded with a poison gas that are harmless to humans.

Re: Fanart

Hey I also noticed the Outsider universe doesn't seem to have any unnecessarily terrifying mega-fauna so I decided to correct that with a fan suggestion for one. https://i.ibb.co/RczrPSF/shell-mammoth-1.png Imagine a mollusc crossed with an Antarctic Bristle Worm that decided to not stop growing. :...

Just for the fun of it I suggest James Bond as played by Sean Connery. 😉

Gtg, got a bus to catch.

Re: Miscellaneous Terran question-and-answer thread

I was thinking, not every aspect of science and technology advances at the same rate. What would be the area of science and tech that humans are most advanced in? Indeed there could be something the "primitive" humans are actually better at, scientifically or technologically. If this "something" ar...

Re: page 196: Crossfire

With a name as "Crossfire" there really need to be a third party in the game, namely that fortress/planet in the middle. I guess that it starts out neutral but eventually one of the players capture it. If that mean that game is won or that the owner only gain some power from having it is another mat...

Re: Miscellaneous Loroi question-and-answer thread

Notice how elves tend to have a reputation of being insufferable in many settings? Well, but they're being insufferable to other elves. Sure every intelligent species has at least one component that is insufferable to others. I think humans have quite a large number of such. Naturally, playing Skyr...

Re: Miscellaneous Loroi question-and-answer thread

While I understand that Loroi warriors and civilians lead separate lives, are they at times forced to share facilities, like hospitals, public transports or working together on space stations? If so, can it cause tension? I don't think so. Some extra-snooty warriors might turn up their noses at an ...

She'll remember Micky Mouse and ask for an explanation once she knows what it means. I also have no idea why Jardin said that at that moment. Considering the 20th century songs he sung when he was drifting in space I have adopted the head cannon that a 20th century fad is in full swing with the you...

Crossposting from the Loroi thread: Given the likelihood that they're using fusion rockets? I doubt they would be using hydrogen, largely because it balloons their ships far too quickly (1 metric ton of (liquid) hydrogen has a volume of 14.12m^3, (liquid) helium is 6.25m^3, liquid water has 1m^3, a...

Re: Miscellaneous Umiak/misc. races question-and-answer thread

Is there any mythological doctrine in Barsam or any other non-Loroi religions that speak of an foreign mezsiah like entity, who comes in the time of great need? I read that there was one in Barsam church doctrine, but I can't find it now. There were important prophets in the history of the Barsam r...

Re: Macron Accelerator "beamers" on Terran ships.

If this was it, from the loroi point of view this is primitive technology. However since their own "superweapon" the wave loom are so rarely used ripping one out from a ship and drop in an high tech level upgraded version of a mjolnir could be an interesting experiment. Pop into a system, take some ...

Re: How would the Loroi Army invade a planet?

I remember when there where some "in case of war" pages in the phonebooks. One very specific order where that ANY order to surrender should be considered false, such as the enemy pretending to be our officals. Effectively it would mean it would be impossible for the swedish leadership to communicate...

Re: Miscellaneous Loroi question-and-answer thread

Humanity have domesticated a lot of animals and breeded them to be very different from the creatures that was initially domesticated. For instance a reason for chariot warfare was horses too small to be used for mounted combat. Now for Soia-Liron creatures I suspect while domesticating them is possi...

Re: Miscellaneous Loroi question-and-answer thread

Here's a curiosity. Do all pilots have short hair out of practicality, or is the short hair of the pilots we've seen just an artifact of the low life expectancy of the job? It's short because of their youth. Their hair is cut off as part of the graduation ritual. Ah, I see. I thought perhaps the li...

Tanks concentrate their armour at the front because that is where it is expected to get hit. A spaceship may have concentrated armor at part of it's structure and delibreatly turn that part towards the enemy. "Shields" for a spaceship can actually be a literal, physical shield perhaps mounted on a s...

Re: The "Real Aerospace" Thread

Good point. Since the beam side of the future weapons equations probably begins with lasers, fast-tracking mirrors are quite significant. And I think a mirror that can track a Mach 7 projectile probably has all the performance characteristics you'll need to focus a beam on an incoming target, even ...
