What is this metal thing on the suit chest?
I accidentally wore a womens' wetsuit once. It was... roomy, in the chest area.

Re: Page 148 - responsible radio silence

Is it me or Has Beryl lost weight? And maybe some height? Compare the shape of her head in the bottom right panel of page 20 , page 24 or page 104 to page 148 . In all those pages Beryl looks directly at the "camera" and the shape of her head seems a bit stretched compared to earlier panels. Maybe ...

Re: Page 148 - responsible radio silence

Great to see a new page! Looking foward to seeing what "devices" the Loroi managed to save. Is it me or Has Beryl lost weight? And maybe some height? Re: Miscellaneous Loroi question-and-answer thread

Is there any particular reason why Reed has her hair neatly braided and coiled around her head (as per the concept drawings) and the fact that it's not visible with her helmet, as opposed to Fireblade, whose hair permanently looks like a scarlet-coloured houseplant that's got out of control?

Re: Page 142-143: Tsk, here's mommy

I didn't mean to (and I don't think I did) imply that Loroi mothers and daughters have no relationship; rather, that it's different from what most humans consider normal. It's more analogous to a human child's relationship with her aunt. Depending on the individual and circumstances, a girl might h...

Re: Miscellaneous Loroi question-and-answer thread

Page 143 (great page by the way!): We see the Loroi in various uniforms. This may have been asked and/or clarified before, but in summary: Beryl and Tempo are both in their Loroi "day uniforms". Fireblade is in her fully-armoured suit. Talon (and presumably Spiral) are in their vac-hardened flight s...

Re: Page 141 Discussion - "I think that was MY head"

Incidentally, we use these kinds of doors already on modern sea-going ships. See page 22 and 23 of this PDF. These kinds of doors may have an electric motor, and up to two different types of emergency opening/closing mechanism. The first is the obvious hand-crank, but the other is a cylinder of comp...

Re: Page 138-139: Brace for Impact

@Luge - They're (a) not "bubble shields" as seen in Star Trek and the like, more like "polarized hull plating" that "sticks to the hull" rather than extends above it and (b) IIRC these defensive screens protect against/absorb energy weapon impacts, but not kinetics or explosives. With that in mind,...

Re: Page 138-139: Brace for Impact

Looking at the image at the top of page 138, the gaps between the sections of station are pretty big - As big as the sections themselves. I'm looking through Insider now to see if we've ever had any firm information on how far from a ship's hull defensive screens extend. I think we can conclude from...

Re: Page 133: "Will you permit it?"

I have to be honest, I'm rather "meh" about this new page. Actually, compared to the last half a dozen which were really good, I don't like it at all. Alex calling out Talon for trying to impress him seems out of character, particularly since this isn't the time for needless distractions. Him then c...

Re: Page 132: Something Interesting

Look how she went from pointing with her thumb to pointing with her finger on p118 . I assumed her first way of pointing was related to what she was referring to on screen, not that she usually points with her thumb, ie, she was referring to the direction of the spin going along the course of her f...

I like that Clearbrook addressed Talon by rank (Arrir). That's definitely a movie moment there.

"You have your orders Lieutenant."

"Damn you, sir!"

Re: WIP Discussion (Part 1!)

My money is on: The Umiak have developed some kind of anti-Loroi psychic scream weapon.

Beryl realises she is immune because she is touching Alex at the time, which dampens or even cancels the weapon's effects.

Humanity is now key to Loroi survival.

Re: Miscellaneous Terran question-and-answer thread

From the Insider page on Jump Drives and Hyperspace , jumping is like a cannon shot. It specifically says that hyperspace and realspace don't interact, so no, there wouldn't be a vapour trail or exhaust trail to follow. Like shooting from a cannon, there might be a lot of smoke and dust around right...

Re: Miscellaneous Terran question-and-answer thread

Do human vessels (or any others for that matters) leave any kind of "jump trace" or other emissions that can be used to track when a jump took place and where it might have gone to? L. There are no lasting traces that can be detected after the fact, but if you had sight of the ship during the proce...

Re: Miscellaneous Loroi question-and-answer thread

(someone may have already said this) Am I the only one who can't help but hear Talon's and Spiral's voices with stereotypical "eastern European" accents? I know that's a bit USA-centric of me, but I can't help it! :) CJSF I think you're picking up that Spiral and Talon perhaos aren't as fluent in T...
