Re: What is better not offer to Loroi
... if they wanted to create entities that could be better pilots they could have created DRONES LIKE WE DO TODAY IRL. The Loroi should have that ability too, yet they use combat pilots. Possibly due to the telepathy, or possibly cultural issues, or just the genre needing fighter pilots. And that a...

Re: What is better not offer to Loroi
The zerg, tyranids, and so on tend to appear to violate thermodynamics, so the ability of good engineering to produce them reflects on the worldbuilding, not on the capabilities of the creators. But my point was the Loroi appear to have been created to be soldiers in a high tech war, one where thing...

I always figured the eponymous outsider was Alex. Is there another one that Arioch's hinted at somewhere? It is Outsider, not Outsiders...zircher wrote:I'm still waiting for the other 'Outsider' to show up in the story so that we get a different perspective.

Depending on mod support, there might be some expansion in multiplayer PVE in it. I've had a lot of fun lately with survival mods in supreme commander for instance.fredgiblet wrote:I don't really care for PvP in general.

That's a good point Siber, though I doubt it's an oversight. Logic, and Arioch's previous post... Yup. But I'm just saying that without that insight, or without Tempo there, I wouldn't be forced to assume malice, just a mix of callousness and ineptitude. With Tempo around, it becomes a lot more cer...

I got a pretty nice drawing tablet for christmas and have taken the opportunity to shake some rust off my drawing skills. So here's a Loroi! Re: Reading Loroi Expressions and Cold reading the Loroi
The fact that they look at each other's faces when conversing suggests to me that they have some ability to read body language, though I'd definitely expect their diplomats and spies to be better at it than your average commando. I also doubt that the mind probe was expected to be lethal, but it see...

Well, personally I hold it in a fairly low regard. Technically and organizationally impressive, but not fun or aesthetically enjoyable for me.dragoongfa wrote:how come no one mentioned Homeworld 2 with the Complex mod?

Icekatze, everything I've been hearing about the current reusable rocket attempts these days presents fuel as the smallest part of a launch cost. I did some digging, and the NASA official line is that the average shuttle launch cost $450 million. I haven't been able to find information direct from N...

Re: Miscellaneous Loroi question-and-answer thread
A bit of frivolity... from what I've read on the matter, pants are guessed to have taken over from skirts due to horseback riding, but they also gained ground in anywhere with harsh conditions. From the Tempest tapestry, it looks like Loroi warriors have favored pants for quite a long time, but does...

In the various gaming site video reports you can see snippets of a common B-roll they were given... which is fairly standard practice. But someone posted the whole 5 min 25 sec B-roll on youtube, which is a pretty good look at things. KpxPtX5MQkI There are some small issues that could be fixed in th...

Re: Speculation: What can Humaniti offer the Loroi?
My money is on humanity offering nothing special to the war effort. Their economy is small and their tech subpar. Nothing special isn't nothing of course, every little bit counts, but getting us up to more than shipping fuel to the front inside the decade might take more investment than the Loroi ca...

Re: The Loroi are Evil!
Well, Alex does call it a cell, and considering he's been in there at least a week I'd hope he has access to the kind of facilities you might find in a call but are unlikely to find in a random storage compartment.

Re: The Loroi are Evil!
Something that occurred to me about Alex's imprisonment is that those holding cells are probably intended to only ever house Loroi, and the training and procedures of the guards probably matches. From how sanzai is described to work, a Loroi put in that cell and never visited would be far less isola...

I've been disappointed thus far with Hardware , which is a browser-based Facebook-style "casual" game, so I have mixed feelings about the news. This isn't correct. I got to test some of the early builds, and as far as I can tell there's no expectation of silence on my part, so let me say that at no...

Re: Miscellaneous Umiak/misc. races question-and-answer thre
If the Umiak are believed to be created via an artificial process (and, since they're akin to insects, and therefore have a natural exoskeleton) does that mean that the Umiak don't have to wear a space suit, just some kind of breathing apparatus? Just for reference, were it not for "the bends", hum...
