Re: [RP]Cydonia Rising (OOC)

The problem with those two weapons is one of back blast. All weapons of today and yesterday follow one rule. if they can be effective through enemy armor they are thusly effective on your own. That being said, the barer of these arms could simply stand at the front. I think the "normal" Armor system...

Re: [RP]Cydonia Rising (OOC)

Is it possible for members of the nightshift crew confined to the comm's or intelligence room to have never seen the Loroi on the ship? It`s not unreasonable, it`s a big ship, moreover they havn`t been given free reign on traversing the ship, they have been mainly in the guest quarters and the Mess...

Re: [RP]Cydonia Rising [IC]

Post number: 35 {Well, at least the captain isn`t going o destroy the station right off the bat so thats good, and, I guess he has a open mind for the combined ops. It`s going to be tough going in there. Boarding ops are always risky. And those reports? I've never heard of them. But if it is AM why...

Re: [RP]Cydonia Rising [IC]

Post number: 34 Charlie looked at the Commander not believing what he heard, trying not to shout. "Commander! You can`t be serious! You'd kill whom ever is left! I know there has to someone left there. We can get in there, we could still save them." Charlie looked at Sonni, not understanding why sh...

Re: [RP]Cydonia Rising [IC]

Post number: 34 Charlie and Sonni entered the bridge last, having docked back with the mother ship. {At least he hasn`t started grilling me.} Charlie raised his hand to speak. "Captain, I assume we won`t simply knock it out of the sky with the Cydonia`s railers? Judging by the as of yet unknown pow...

Please come back now. We need to decide what to do next and make a plan. By the way: I don't assume we need to tow you ...

Re: [RP]Cydonia Rising [IC]

Post number: 32 The console chimed in, alerting them both. Sonni adjusted some of the controls bringing up a picture. It space a human space station, it was severely damaged, several of the hub modules were free floating in a cloud of debris. There was a lot of holes in the station and it looked de...

Post number: 31 {What the hell is a Man-nual? Still I guess it`s alright that we can grab thier ECM Channels.} [This is Cydonia command. The Laser com-link is working, receiving and sending data, as well as audio, without any problems. We understood you plan and Captain Blake approves it. We need t...

Re: Oddity

I discovered early on that the world can be harsh and unforgiving, sometimes life just isn`t fair. I will do my best to make sure that the same would not happen to my children, if that means pretending about Santa, dragons, cops-n-robbers and what not then so be it. Almost everyone grows out of it a...

Re: Oddity

Statements about religion aside, all that breeds is hatred and contempt. Whats wrong with a "falsehood" like Santa? He indirectly brings hope and happiness to millions, I can live with the fact he isn`t around. Even when I knew the Santa wasn`t real, I played along for the sake of my sister. Should ...

Re: The "Real Aerospace" Thread

On the Sherman/Heavy tank there was no one reason things turned out that way, but one thing I dont think I saw mentioned, maybe overlooked, was that there were two fronts in this war. I skimmed, admittedly, but every mention I saw was of Panzers Tigers and Europe but the Sherman was in every way su...

Re: [RP]Cydonia Rising [IC]

Post number 30: Charlie didn`t really have any idea of how to get away from the Cydonia without suspicion, not that it mattered, as he was silenced by an extended finger. Sonni must have already had a plan in motion. He might have seen the gears turning in her head, the plan was well though out as ...

Re: The "Real Aerospace" Thread

You don't need missiles, you could equip a VTOL UAV with a machine gun & a grenade launcher, and assign it to the support vehicle. People would still be opposed to it, but the ammo would presumably be cheaper, which the brass would like, and it wouldn't sound as frightening as "missile drone". Some...

Re: The "Real Aerospace" Thread

My World History Depth Studies extended only from 1900-2000, so most of what I know regarding American history before that is conjecture. Still, there is a pattern in how the US fights, they have always had better armed and more soldiers on the field. Before & during the US civil war, we fought in ...

Re: The "Real Aerospace" Thread

Is it hard coded it us? ... but yes. Drones basically represent a form of influence that can be exerted over people, and thus someone will always oppose them. If you e.g,. got rid of all of the explicit weapons that have ever been made, then someone would start agitating over shovels/spades. If you...

Re: The "Real Aerospace" Thread

This. I don't get the obsession with the evil of drone strikes, I've never seen any evidence that they are any less precise than regular airstrikes. The precision often comes down to the human intelligence not only what can be seen from the air. Systems malfunctions form the lower percentage of inc...

Re: The "Real Aerospace" Thread

The question of moral implications when using more drones is one, should machines decide when and if to kill? I feel that the decision to end another person/s existence should always be a human one, and never a computers. This way people have someone to blame, not some faceless machine doing what it...
