Re: Physiological/psychological effects on Ship Design.
At some point, one wonders what the use of argument, when both sides have no real indepth knowledge of what they are talking about. The Comparison is of two ships different sizes. Neither are spaceships. neither were designed by aliens. I am quickly comming to the conclusion that these forums need b...

Edit button exists for a reason.
We already know that the Waveloom is going to be fired, while the ship is disabled it will be borded, and we get to see some close combat.

Re: Armor values
Arioch Well if the old damage tables are no longer relevent that changes things. Because a Terran Heavy Cruiser that has less armor and no screens, carries more BEAM firepower based on them then a Loroi Vessal of the same size designed to take on ships that would seem to have around 80armor+Screens ...

Re: Armor values
You're making the assumption that Terran, Loroi, and Umiak armor materials are of equivalent defensive value for the same degree of application. Terran armor is masses more and is thicker than Loroi or Umiak armor, thus, they're using more of it - but it's not as effective. Didnt make any assumptio...

Physiological/psychological effects on Ship Design.
Arioch Terran Ships seem to carry far more weapons for size then Loroi/Umiak ships. Terran Heavy Cruiser 320m Weapons 08 Heavy Laser 06 Heavy Mass Driver 08 Point-Defense Laser 04 Missile Tubes 02 Anti-Missile Launchers Loroi light cruiser ~300m Weapon Mounts 09 Heavy Blaster 10 Laser Autocannon 01 ...

Re: Armor values
Armor Values for Terran ships dont seem right. and I will try to explain it a diffrent way.. then simply Terran ships would be protected agasint Terran weapons and railguns seem to be there main weapon and the armor wouldnt work. IT has been satated Terrans use MORE armor then the Loroi or even Umia...

Re: Page 86
On page 60 did anyone else pick up on when Alex tells the Captain that they were attacked by a highpowered beam weapon.. and that he saw it and it was a green colour. and the CAPTAIN looks immedately at the Historian with squinted eyes. The Historian then states in response "that is not exactly prec...

Re: Page 86
5 ships were sent.. its possible another ship made contact with the UMIAK. It maybe the Umiak are attempting to negoiate some kind of exchange for the Terran Wreck.. as a sign of good faith as later providing it as evidence of a Loroi attack. Or it could just be that Girl that was with Alex survived...

Re: Page 85
The size of missiles to the Railgun projectile for the same energy isnt very much larger. With electric cells of sufficent density(we dont have) or a Nuclear heated exhaust(We can make) can be LESS then 200kg and be faster and have higher impact energy. Using 1960s Hydrogen/Oxygen engine at 50%-60% ...

Re: Armor values
95-98.5%(besides missiles) of the damage output of Terran ships comes from Mass Drivers.
Railguns are Terran ships Primary Weapon

Re: Armor values
Rosen_Ritter_1 I didnt post what you are responding too... I couldnt be bothered after your claim about weapons.. despite the fact Terran ship specs show the cruisers carry mostly railguns.. while the Heavy cruiser carries 2 more heavy lasers then heavy railguns, but the railguns shoot 8 times faster.

Oh but it is.
However feel free point out where a major loss of electrons happen between leaving the Electron Emitter and hitting the screen.

Re: Page 85
Lets take the assumption that they cant make faster railguns.
Why use them at all.
Why not just missiles.. and DO think very hard before you answer that.

Re: Armor values
Maybe that points out psychological issues with the Umiak/Loroi. Putting guns that can shoot backwards and flying away from your enemy while you whack them hasnt even been considered. Much like ww1 combat was straight up slaughter becuase the commanders on both sides refused to consider anything but...

Disjointed from reality? What would that be.. that LCD screens only allow ~7% of the light that hits the back of the Pixels though? Not the MASSIVE 33% that I assumed with a perfectly impossible LCD screen? Electron flow route at phosphor screens in CRT Pages 144-150 Materials Chemistry and Physics,...

Re: Page 85
You decided to get into the argument with a statement I made in this very thread, the argument was based on the assumption I implied that THE SAME RAILGUN that fires pellet with reduced weight would have double the velocity, and you argued because of inefficiencies it wouldnt 1. You never stated th...

Exactly what would I cite? I asked you to provide a Particle emitter or accelerator whatever you would like to call it, thats capable of being efficent as you describe... becuase you are going on and on how railguns are not.. and how Particle Weapons are BETTER in terms of energy consumption. You ma...
