Students of history will note that the names of all three vessels derive from the names of temples along the old Shimmering Path: Kuun-Lan, "Purifying Flame", Fal-Corum, "Silent Wayfarer", and Clee San, "Truth Seeker"…

A deep space research vessel, the Clee-San was summoned to the aid of the mining vessel Kuun-Lan to provide scientific staff to research a newly recovered alien artifact. Unfortunately, this artifact contained the "Beast" subversion entity; both the Clee San's research staff and eventually the ship herself would meet a gruesome end at the hands of this organism.
