In the final days of their control over the Mothership's PDA, Kiith Somtaaw triumphantly built one final ship, the Clee San, a top-of-the-line deep space research frigate. Students of history will note that the names of all three vessels derive from the names of temples along the old Shimmering Path: Kuun-Lan, "Purifying Flame", Fal-Corum, "Silent Wayfarer", and Clee San, "Truth Seeker"…

The research frigate "Clee-San" and the squadron of Acolytes escorting her were the first vessels to experience the effects of the Beast Infection weapon. Shortly after the infected portion of the Somtaaw vessel "Kuun-Lan" had detached, the Clee-San and her escorts moved in to gain intelligence on the newly-mutated vessel. They were struck by an unidentified energy beam, and contact was lost. Only moments later, some of the same vessels took part in an attack on the nearby Somtaaw fleet from which the research squadron had originated.

Kuun-lan and the subverted Clee-San would cross paths again, and the Clee-San would serve as a test target for the Kuun-Lan's redesigned Siege Cannon. Her reactors gone critical, Clee-San exploded only moments after a Somtaaw boarding team had used her circuits to send a distress call to the main Beast mothership.
