Re: Miscellaneous Loroi question-and-answer thread
I'm not convinced that humanoids make good wagon-pullers Nevertheless they could have used some kind of handcart? Those things were very popular in our ancient times and are still used today. Maybe this could have required some kind of permission from the various ancient Loroi citystates for the tr...

Re: Miscellaneous Loroi question-and-answer thread
After re-reading some parts of the comic for some "Calm Seas" related research, I noted something strange: How come that Antimonys hair (the other, red haired Listel on Tempest's bridge) has so much longer hair than Beryl? Antimony should be half a year younger, as you said. Can you tell us what's t...

Indeed, I did not mention his name. Will change that in the next chapter, I think.

Re: [Fan Fiction]Calm Seas
Zenker and Strehle are both Matrosen. There is the Smutje (Hermelins cook) Maat Geffken, infamous for its meals and also responsible for anything beyond first aid aboard (those small boats don't have a doctor aboard). Yet to appear: Hermelins LI (Leitender Ingeneur = Chief Engineer) and the Helmsmen...

Re: [Fan Fiction]Calm Seas
I'll try to fix those errors as soon as I can and loading a page doesn't take around 5 minutes or so. Glad you enjoyed it anyway. Edit: should be better now. I originally added empty lines for better readability, removed a few of them to avoid some confusion and make it clearer who said which...

Re: [Fan Fiction]Calm Seas
Rejoice! Finally a new chapter. Edit: corrected a few stupid misstakes, changed a few minor things for better readability. -------------------------------------------------------------- Chapter 18: Ambassador "Show me the way." Was, what the blue skinned and dark violett haired woman had requested f...

Re: [Fan Fiction]Calm Seas
A small status update:
-Went through every story post so far and corrected various minor errors.
-(Hopefully) corrected that embarrasing Antimon/Antimony error. (Please tell me if I missed one)
-Next part is in the works.

Re: Are our resident Germans ok?
The only other religious riots in a western country that come to my mind, that don't have a muslim background were in North Ireland. There were protests against certain movies or books, but nothing on that level.

Thanks, anyway!

Re: [Fan Fiction]Calm Seas
AFAICT every native German noun ending in R is masculine. As always, there ar exceptions: "die Abwehr" or "die Ziffer" as an example. You can keep Union instead of "Vereinigung". The later sounds a bit old fashioned and is usually used for various forms of Associations (and is a very old fashioned ...

Re: [Fan Fiction]Calm Seas
Plural in German is indeed always "die", thats true. As with species. We are talking about fictive race, so examples like elves and dwarves spring into my mind, which would be "die Elfen" and "die Zwerge". So, I would assume "die Loroi" for them as a race is correct. However, sanzai appears to be mu...

Re: [Fan Fiction]Calm Seas
As all those castes have female members only, it would be "die" in all cases, I assume.
Every nation (or group of people) is also female in German, like: the Germans: die Deutschen, the British: die Briten, the Russians: die Russen, etc... So I would go with die Loroi.

Re: [Fan Fiction]Calm Seas
Very tough question. First: grammar is not my strongpoint, I have to admit. Hated that back in school. Anyway, articles in German are complicated and sometimes confusing. Additionally to what Krulle said: there are basically three of those articles, der (male), die (female) and das (neutral). For ex...

Re: What to Do with Jardin (Fan Fic)
No problem Krulle and it was not intended as some kind of offence. I only know this, because of a friend of mine who served and we discussed that matter some time ago, as well as why the current German uniforms look so bland and grey. My dad was conscriped and back in that time, in fact the last in ...

Re: What to Do with Jardin (Fan Fic)
German armed forces require the ceremonial swords/daggers to be blunt when worn to ceremonial events. Krulle, the current German armed forces do not allow any ceremonial swords or daggers, as far as I know. For rare ceremonial duties, pistols as sidearms are issued for that occation to officers. Ba...

Re: [Resource] Visual Index of the Loroi
Source? Curious because I hounded everything to make sure that she didn't have a name. Unclear. Judging by the search, except in his fic doesn't mention nowhere else. I indeed asked Arioch that before: Link But I have to admit that I made a misstake. She is called Antimony, not Antimon. Thanks for ...

The red haired Listel on the bridge is called Antimon, by the way.
