I think they give Teirdar armored shoes to Alex because it looks similar to the ones Bellarmine crew wear.

Re: Miscellaneous Terran question-and-answer thread
My guess there is. On earth, I guess some areas are still somewhat underdeveloped, sometimes deliberately. Most likely the Amish are still around for instance. This could be something for visiting aliens to study. Expect xenoantropologists to arrive shortly. I can only imagine how it will be like w...

What I was originally thinking was something like this: Nation : Ares International Corporation World : Mars Military : 1,800 Armored Vehicles 100,000 Armed Troops 82 Ground bases (62 are outposts) Notable Unit : AR-57S "Centurion" Main Battle Mech http://orig06.deviantart.net/e9b5/f/2011/198/0/6/ar...

Re: The importance of skill in ever more advanced wars.
Well let me start by saying that I don't see a need for any colony to have a ground army at this stage, most are dependent on earth for their survival and they are a unified entity, as far as I know. Having ground soldiers acting as anything other than a police force would be weird. Many of the col...

The latter.Game Theory wrote: I don't really understand the question, are you asking which country would have a ground army or what their respective ground armies would look like?
If it's the latter I'm prepared to shower it with ideas.

Re: The importance of skill in ever more advanced wars.
This topic is about the possible mechanics of ground warfare for an alien race at about the technological level of the Loroi as we see them in the comics; more specifically, it is about how much skill will transition into this new era from the last. i.e. how much of the fighting is done by machines...

About the Nibiren: The Loroi built a colony in Halli and discovered a pre-industrial species. They never thought about giving (or trading) the colony to the Barsam, so they can uplift the Nibiren ? The Loroi call them "farmers" (or "diggers"), the Barsam see that as an insult ? They also use the Nib...

About the Delrias:
How they lose the war against the Loroi ?
"Subjugated Population" means that there are Sorion armies occupying Kabel's major population centers ?
There is a Delrias space or the Loroi stripped them from their colonies ?

You're still using Magic's card frames and graphical assets, and if it looks like a duck... http://www.thispeanutlookslikeaduck.com/this-peanut-looks-like-a-duck.jpg Besides, parallels can easily be drawn in not-disrespectable number between the Loroi Union and feudal Japan, and they did do Kamigaw...

Re: An Outsider-themed Magic: The Gathering set
I renamed it to Command Vessel Erebas , and also gave all the ships races (Loroi, Umiak, or Human, as appropriate). We should figure out all the types of creatures/units. Humans have: Battlecruiser, Heavy Cruiser, Light Cruiser, Destroyer, Heavy Destroyer, Long-Range Scout, Heavy Scout, Long-Range ...

Re: An Outsider-themed Magic: The Gathering set
Also, Greatsword -Class Battleship is extremely good. It's a strictly better Resto Angel (because it's uncommon and doesn't require any colored mana), and that's still a $7 card almost two years after it left Standard. I was rather lazy so I copied a S:tC card "Flikerfleet". Space: the Convergence ...

Re: An Outsider-themed Magic: The Gathering set
Erebas etc. etc.'s name needs shortened so it isn't squished. There are a lot of cards that have name like this. The initial idea was that Tempest was a rare type of ship so that is why the names is written in Loroi Trade ("Erebas"). If it's not looking good, we can use "Vortex-class Command Vessel...
