Re: Miscellaneous Loroi question-and-answer thread

Maybe our lively personalities will endear us to them. "Did you know that we have been killing Millions amongst ourselves for thousands of years?"

Re: Miscellaneous Loroi question-and-answer thread

Loroi {Doranzer Caste} - "What we find hard to understand is how You humans get anything done! Your society is in a state of constant turmoil!" Human Industrialist - "What do you mean we have mostly stable governments oh there is the occasional conflict over resources and political maneuvering... b...

Re: 1 year anniversary for page 102!

Wow you're quite the lurker aren't you ;). I don't think it's any cause for celebration when the comic goes for a year without a post. At least not in the way you are suggesting. Especially considering and update is probably only a few weeks away. Also doesn't this count for a tar and featherin' sin...

Re: Miscellaneous Terran question-and-answer thread

I was thinking, if the Historians are so advanced because they supposedly retained a lot of Soia tech. What are the chances that humanity could stumble upon a abandoned Soia outpost or significant artifact and get a huge tech uplift over time ? I find it hard to believe that the Soia cataclysm would...

Re: The end of the war Thread

How will the war end? Loroi or Umiak will not be pleased with us and they will send a fleet to wipe us out. Just when all hope seems lost, humanity will come to the revolutionary discovery of tactical jumps. With the ability to jump right behind the enemy fleet, the laughable mass drivers become th...

Re: The end of the war Thread

Occupying an ally doesn't seems that good a deal for the ally though..... HA HA HA In case you hadn't noticed the Loroi, as friendly and a fitting choice as they might be for us, would never allow a race of our tech level to maintain sovereignty. There just isn't any common sense to it. For raisins...

Re: Concept Fanart of Future Terran Ship Designs

Why not just build a shit ton of disposable drones with PD Gauss cannons/mass drivers. I would think they would be much easier to manufacture in massive quantities and easier to deploy (fuel-wise) than frigate and destroyer class vessels. Even if Humanity had the time and resources to make the stag...

The other scout ships

Imagine two independent scout ships ally with both the Loroi and Umiak. I don't think the concept is unreasonable because once they found either group the chances of them being released are slim to none. Though the Umiak meeting might be a bit one sided. :| Thinking of that just gave me this i...

Re: The end of the war Thread

3. We occupy a crucial location. Which means (given 1) that even the slightest hint of us allying with the Umiak (and human society is full of dissenting opinions about ANYTHING) would send alarm bells ringing in the head of Emperor Greywind (which is bad). The Union has accepted species based on o...

Re: The end of the war Thread

@ fredgiblet Maybe, The problem is that the Loroi simply don't have the industrial capacity to support such an undertaking. To say nothing of the immense advantage that would give the Umiak. Who could undoubtedly punch numerous holes in such a line. That's why the Loroi have lasted this long. Interd...

The end of the war Thread

As far as I can tell there isn't a thread on this particular topic so I just wanted to open the board to discussion. We all know that Outsider isn't about the war ending or humanity's technological involvement in it, however that doesn't mean we can't have a hypothetical discussion on how it happens...

Re: Miscellaneous Terran question-and-answer thread

Arioch, I know the Orgus ship was moderately advanced compared to the Terran tech when they first arrived. Specifically that it didn't have weapons or screens. But did the Orgus know enough about the Umiak tech to vaguely describe screens ? I guess the point of the question is can the TCA research t...

Re: Miscellaneous Terran question-and-answer thread

Without the Loroi engines those ships would be sitting ducks. Like shooting fish in a barrel.

Or would this be far enough along that we would have reverse-engineered some Umiak engines ?

My first post

Hello, I first found Outsider in 2011 after I followed a link on Homeworld Shipyards. I would have posted in the new arrivals thread but it seems that it has been deleted. I have always enjoyed the topics on this forum, especially the in-depth discussions on World War II. It should be noted that thi...
