Re: Human/Loroi Differences In Culture

I think telepathy is a double-edged sword when it comes to prejudice. On the one hand, it will be out in the open, and someone who meant no harm will know that she caused some. On the other hand, someone who did mean harm can know for sure that the blow landed. Children can be very kind, but they c...

Re: Human/Loroi Differences In Culture

Considering the Loroi in terms of quick maturation, extreme youthful longevity and extremely efficient metabolism, they didn't really have a reason to even think of the need to commercialize milk production as a staple food stuff in the way humans do. Their children creches surely have a few wet nur...

Re: If Loroi Rocket Drives Were Real This Is How Exhaust Plumes Would Look

I think that you are overthinking things a little; Arioch has made plenty of effort to make the setting as plausible as possible but it is still a fictional setting that never pretended to be a hard-sci-fi one. Furthermore, it being a comic means that the author has to take great lengths to 'show' e...

Re: Human/Loroi Differences In Culture

To me, I think the biggest disconnect between loroi and human psychology would be that what to a human would be a serious and life-long commitment to anything, whether a cause or a government or a relationship, would essentially never amount to more than a tenth of a loroi lifespan. A maximum of ma...

Re: Human/Loroi Differences In Culture

EDIT: So Loroi warriors mate at 10 years old?! What? They mature faster and are like 20 at 10 instead of a human 10 year old girl? Otherwise that sounds....really disturbing. Yes, the Loroi do mature at nine years old and are fully capable to procreate at that age. They are an alien bio engineered ...

Re: Page 202: WHY?

Depends, in this situation it would pay to have the Umiak go at a wild goose chase and if a single Passet was found alone on a shuttle then the first question would be where the rest of the Loroi would be. If Cloud was caught, questioned and said that all the others went EVA some time ago and they h...

Re: Human/Loroi Differences In Culture

I was at least partially aware of all you said....but you know it more. Regarding the telepathic bond....super Loroi like Fireblade could bypass that...hard. That would truly be a beyond normal experience. Average Loroi cannot break the human barrier, but super's like Fireblade can share memories. ...

Re: Human/Loroi Differences In Culture

There are far more differences that have yet to be addressed in the comic but have been covered in the insider and various Q & A posts in the forum. Loroi society is a caste based stratocracy, with the various warrior castes having firm control of the society at large. The civilian underclass is lar...

Re: Page 202: WHY?

For what purpose? Because they are boarding a Loroi vessel, after decades of total war the Umiak are bound to know what both the Mizol and Teidar castes are capable of. Having a few extra eyes on watch from far enough away to be unaffected by telepathy should be standard practice. That's kinda stup...

How does Fireblade's helmet maintain pressure integrity while allowing her hair out?
Word of God is that the helmet has a specialized hair mesh that allows it to maintain pressure integrity.

Re: Page 202: WHY?

Unless telepathic techniques affect personnel in great distances I don't see how a sacrifice ploy could work since the boarders would also have ship personnel looking through them (I expect hard troop visual sensors to be network capable) and as such an Umiak that would be hundreds of meters away wo...

Re: Miscellaneous Terran question-and-answer thread

Ah, well, I was under the assumption that most Loroi senior officers didn't have 25 years of service - that they typically died 'young'. That would make a big difference. From my perspective (and I may be wrong) adapting our current strategies to space warfare wouldn't be that hard and it would all...

Re: Miscellaneous Terran question-and-answer thread

I was wondering if humanity had restrictions on hair length for the TCA/Scout Corps? I was thinking they did, based on the bridge crew of the Bellarmine but then I saw that the character on page 5, panel 3 with long hair. Is it just personal preference/convenience? Even though the Scout Corps is te...
