Re: Page: 225 - Krak, KRAK!! WHOKK!!!
As has been established with the Umiak ship designs.. I expect each hard trooper is custom crafted following the local Administration 'pattern' plan based upon local resources and tactical needs. There is no 'uniform' design by the Umiak... merely performance standards that are to be met for satisf...

Re: Page 224: Optimistic Way Of Looking At Things
A small arms blaster would be designed to be fired in atmosphere, so I don't see that being a problem. Oxygen accelerates combustion but it doesn't itself burn. The most obvious danger in using higher power settings on a blaster is the risk of missing your intended target and having the shot go thr...

Re: Page 224: Optimistic Way Of Looking At Things
The hard troops are on the outside of the ship and coming inside. Holy shit, those guys are absolute units. I wonder why the bugs don't fire torpedoes loaded with them at the Loroi ships and capture the vessels if they can handle the vacuum of space. I wonder do the Hardtroops pull their weight when...

Re: Page 222: Take Care What You Choose For Cover
I am not sure the Umaki would be so stupid as to open up with weapons in a magazine.

Re: Page 220: Clearing the Path
I'm not sure using earth to flank the bugs would be wise as it would kind of go well out of the Lorois way to get their then go at the umaki home worlds.

Re: Page 220: Clearing the Path
Yeah... humanity does not outnumber the Loroi. Earth has a larger population than any of the Loroi worlds, but the Loroi have a lot more worlds. Beryl appears to be left-handed. I seem to recall that Loroi were more likely to be left-handed (I think there was something about it in the Loroi discuss...

Re: Why FTL Starships Should Never Land On A Planet....
That's basically the Frank Herbert 'Dune' Highliner in a nutshell. Huge FTL (albeit jump ship/dimensional gate or..?) ship - disgorges lots of smaller craft in the destination system. Sounds that way but is a wee bit different since I left out some details. Engines use propellantless antigravity ra...

Re: Page 219
Explosive Decompression usually happens under speeds like mach 0.75 and up. They are still traveling right, or did the ship stop entirely? According to documentation ear drums and sinus cavities are the most suseptable to ED. It also happens in a space of about .1 to .5 seconds The ship is in space...

Re: Page 219
Did violent decompression kill those two umaki? If so is their exoskeleton that durable? As I understand it, animals will lose consciousness and die from lack of oxygen long before they succumb to other effects of low pressure (like ruptured wet membranes and gas coming out of solution to form bubb...

Re: Page 219
So is the ship laid down like an ant hill/bee hive structure and they love to just climb and crawl about the ship.
