Re: Miscellaneous Loroi question-and-answer thread

Do you can say a few words about loroi culinary? And give one-two simple loroi recipes) Actually, this reminded me of a question I had a few months ago. Given the biochemical differences between the Loroi and humans, has Alex actually derived any nutrition from the food he's been given that he's be...

Re: Miscellaneous Loroi question-and-answer thread

If our biospheres are compatible enough, maybe as a distant colony world to buffer their species if the war goes poorly for them and the Umiak break through to the sister worlds. Then they have a working biome, plenty of workers and resources.

Re: Miscellaneous Loroi question-and-answer thread

I just don't see how, without significant help (which the Loroi might be very reluctant to provide), Terran forces would be little more than metaphorical Redshirts in any situation in this war. Or perhaps Redshirts isn't the most apt analogy. Maybe just good ol' fashioned cannon fodder.

Re: Miscellaneous Terran question-and-answer thread

So far, the story seems stacked in favor of "We'll ally with the Loroi" but can we expect some twists and turns? I know you don't want to give anything away, but what foreshadowing you've done has been pretty masterful, in my opinion. I'm still hanging on Mozin's terminated conversation.

Re: WIP Discussion (Part 1!)

If nothing else, I hope both the comic gets to the point (and I'm still interested, then) to where we at least know who fired on the Bellarmine. :-/

Re: Miscellaneous Terran question-and-answer thread

Arioch, In page 6, center panel, Captain Hamilton muses that the unknown vessel is too far out to be a picket vessel. I am wondering, Earth having no previous alien contact (besides the Orgus), and no battle experience (except their own drills and simulations), how would he know that to be true? Is ...

Re: Miscellaneous Loroi question-and-answer thread

Since this comic is principally from Alex's point of view, I guess we really won't be getting any inside looks or "listens" to what any of the Loroi are sending to each other about ... well anything, really, will we?

Re: WIP Discussion (Part 1!)

Plus they'd make good filler :P Also the Space Coast ? Small world huh :o I just hope he can find time and peace of mind to move the story along more regularly, and I couldn't be too upset with him if that filler was dropped in order to finish the comic before he turns 80 ;) Do you also live in Bre...

Re: WIP Discussion (Part 1!)

Arioch, will there be more flashbacks showing what the crew of the Bellarmine was up to before it was attacked (i.e., training, more discussions of the Orgus contact, what Ellen and Alex did to get booted out of the bridge, etc.)? I realize some readers might think that those story-lines could go so...

Re: Miscellaneous Loroi question-and-answer thread

Apropos of nothing, I still think the first panel of page 40 is my favorite piece of art in the comic so far.

Re: Miscellaneous Loroi question-and-answer thread

Just to reinforce what Arioch said, it would be vanishingly unlikely for any microbes that would infect the Loroi (or its ecosystems) to have any effect on a human and vice versa. Billions of years of evolution would see to that.

Re: Miscellaneous Terran question-and-answer thread

I've been thinking about length of day for the various worlds described here, and was wondering how it might be handled (or ignored) for the story. To use a vaguely analogous example, I know that the initial planning and exploration of the various Mars rover teams were planned on Mars time. Mars has...

Re: WIP Discussion (Part 1!)

OK, so without angering the gods of update news, I'll just say that now that Arioch has his new Compy and such that I am hopeful things will start moving through the pipeline and into the comic soon. Is it out of bounds to ask how much of the story Arioch has "fleshed out" and if there's stuff much ...
