Re: WIP Discussion (Part 1!)
It IS a horrible idea... you want a leather strap to hold the entire thing closed, not a snap :p. Though with a bit more thought, I think it really is a bit off: you really only need one side of the case. Drill a hole in the case, around where the hole of the blade would be when stowed, tie a reten...

Re: What is the "Well of Souls Stellar Remnant"
Hmm, if that thing triggered again, the Umiak look like they'd have more trouble than the Loroi. At any rate, I doubt that it'll come up. Probably it'll always be mostly-fluff, unless a dreadstar shows up (phenomenally unlikely). What if the Well of Souls is a currently stationary Dreadstar that ha...

If you kill Beryl and Tempo in this I am going murder you across the internet! Well, I would strongly advise you to not do so. For one, this would be illegal, and I'll make sure the authorities will find you. Second, he's my current favourite fan fiction author, and comforting me over my "no...

Now as for coexisting sub-species. I think that we will have to agree to disagree on that one, for me any species that has managed to grow sapience has done so by being de-facto absolute predator of the ecosystem (we have only us as an example but we have to admit that we are the absolute predators...

Re: [Fan Fiction] The pale horse (Updated: 12/11/2016)
Now I either jumped the shark Not unless it degrades after this. or blew some minds; probably both. I'm not sure what was supposed to be mind-blowing? The thing with the Pol & teleporters is vaguely interesting, and you narrowed down some stuff, but that's it. If you've got something mind-blowing, ...

Re: Master of Orion
MoO2 Elerians looks much better in my opinion. This art resembles syreen from the Star Control 3 in some way. Yeah, I noticed that when they were making MOO3 as well; the artists seem to want to remember the Elerians being scantily clad like the Syreen, which they never were. Look at it this way: t...

Re: [Fan Fiction] The pale horse (Updated: 11/20/2016)
Nice, you are getting there thou there is a minor scientific error in that not all humans got Neanderthal ancestors. White Europeans got the most and Africans got none, providing they are racially pure individuals. Not that it would really affect the story one bit, except perhaps it would leave Afr...

Re: The "Real Aerospace" Thread
Might as well go for a modernized version that had built-in VTOL. Run driveshafts into the fuselage from the engine pods, and just fill as much of the internal space as you can get away with with some of those fans they developed for the F-35, then hang some thrust-vectoring vanes wherever the air ...

Re: The "Real Aerospace" Thread
The Iowa class battleships were the last ships who ever provided naval ground support, they were retired at 1992 so the art of coordination is more or less lost at the moment as the people who did them have retired and haven't trained replacements. Fun fact: Reactivating and upgrading the four muse...

It also requires optical rectennas (should hopefully be doable at their tech-level). Of course, it could be something entirely different (some obscure quantum-coupling mechanism in the super-conduction family, perhaps), but in the end it all comes down to "power lines" regardless of the specific te...

Re: Miscellaneous Loroi question-and-answer thread
or whatever pleases you Deinarid, Perreiner, Tabenese, Maian. ;) Also, I imagine that loroi starcraft would use fiber optics at the absolute least. This would of course mean that they need fucktons of sand. It also requires optical rectennas (should hopefully be doable at their tech-level). Of cour...

Re: Halfway station RP thread.
One possible solution would be tradition. Presumably not all loroi cultures and sub-cultures had Mizol from the very beginning. It had to be invented by someone at some point, and prior to that you'd have more primitive methods of attempting to peaceably deal with others. One possible angle of atta...

Re: Halfway station RP thread.
Pro's: 1.) Such a character would be interesting, as they are currently not present in the comic, but play an important part in Loroi society. The RP could benefit from it, if the character is well played and the player knows its boundaries. It can probably work out okay even if sunphoenix (or whoe...

Uhm.. Excuse me.. but where did you get ANY of that form what I suggested? I had not bothered with any detail or even a fully fleshed out story as WE HAVE NO CHARACTER CREATION SYSTEM!!! Sorry, but I got it from reading your description. Literally, I got it from reading your description. None of yo...

Re: Halfway station RP thread.
Wow. The amount of "stop having fun" and "you don't get to play someone important/awesome" here is staggering. You need to understand that "games you play with others" and "games you play with yourself" are different sorts of games. Both can be fun, but they are usually NOT the same sort of game. s...

Re: Halfway station RP thread.
And this is ultimately why I think the "run-away" part of "run-away male Loroi" idea is nonsense: too much power-fantasy, not enough average-character. If you want to go around min-maxing then just play a hack'n'slash instead of pretending to role play. If you can't find a sensible reason for your c...

Re: Halfway station RP thread.
[edited in] This was directed mostly at sunphoenix, not really at Sweforce. Though that last bit applies regardless. [/edit] *ahem* Here's a question: Are you planning on this being a PbP style of normal tabletop RPG, or is it freeform RP without any stats? Here's another question: We have a Discord...

Re: Halfway station RP thread.
So, out of curiosity, is this idea still going, is anyone still interested in it, or what? I hope so. The idea is to have a station similar to to the one in Star Trek Deep Space 9 (thou probably smaller) for social interaction. Some people are taking it to serious thou making it a bit hard getting ...
