If you can't make your point more politely than this, then don't post.
Is this what passes for "horrible impolitness" in this neck of the woods?
Really?

Seems more safe spaces are needed.

Re: I sense something. Something I've not felt since...

hi hi So don't talk about real fighting if you don't know about it. And if Star Wars was real, that might actually mean something. Look TrashMan, if all you are going to do is tell people they are stupid, while simultaneously not listening to anything anyone else is saying, I see no reason to liste...

Re: I sense something. Something I've not felt since...

Just curious.. If I write a book and describe a character as a tactical genius...then write a battle scene in which he does the most stupidest things that even someone who is not knowledgabe in miltiary tactics would see are stupid and should cause a disaster - and yet the character ends up winning....

Re: I sense something. Something I've not felt since...

trashman: neither me nor icekatze said anything about how 'realistic' lightsaber fight choreography are, just that shown effects clearly indicates certain behavior, which in turn indicates physics involved . And according to that shown behavior that "crossguard" makes little to no sense. It does no...

Re: I sense something. Something I've not felt since...

hi hi Lightsabers are pure fantasy, so really the only way to figure out about them is by observing how they work in their fantasy setting, and using the properties displayed by lightsabers in the movies to date, the cross guards make no sense. On the issue of "stickiness," the characters in the mo...

Re: I sense something. Something I've not felt since...

trashman: I know what they are modeled after. #1 leverage against what? with a ordinary sword you can hook and trap the opponents sword, that would not work with a lightsaber due to a few reasons, simplest is the 'trapped' blade can vanish and reappear at the user whim. The lightsaber behaves like ...

Re: I sense something. Something I've not felt since...

EU is garbage. Sewage. Aside from a few gems (Thrawn?), it's all S***.

Fanboys writing bad SW stories and taking things from their other favorite universes/character, until it turns into a chaotic mess as every Tom, Dick and Harry masturbates into the cauldron.

Re: I sense something. Something I've not felt since...

but but but, swords got those pointy things therefor they should be on lightsabers....ouch. silly clunky speeder was silly. the whack rolling droid was kinda cool though, not much more to say. except, non-clone storm troopers is good. The swords got those things (handguards) for 3 reasons: 1) lever...

Re: [Fan Fiction] Looking forward to the Mirror

I have taken the liberty to give the Umiak's farsense in the story and the Umiak ships have far better accelaration than TCA ships. Can't take the Loroi aboard, the Umiak will hunt the ship down with far sense. The human crew wouldn't be in danger since they can't be detected with farsense but they...

Re: [Fan Fiction] Looking forward to the Mirror

Alternatively, contacting another scout to do both - one takes a few Loroi to Earth, the other takes a few home. Not with an Umiak vessel coming their way. The way I see it the humans will have to pick between running home and possibly exposing Humanity's core worlds (not to mention being overrun),...

Re: [Fan Fiction] Looking forward to the Mirror

Hmmmm...interesting to see where this will go. The humans would love to get their hands on some of the tech and would love to bring the Loroi to Earth. In fact, it's probably their directive - to get back ASAP once they got something. Getting deeper into unknown territory and risking crew and curren...
